Lora Yankova Marinova was born in the city of Varna on the 1st of June,1953.

1972: She obtained a high school degree in music at HSM (High School for Music) Dobri Hristov – city of Varna, specializing in piano with Tsvetana Kareeva.
1977: Her higher education degree is from the National Art Academy – city of Sofia, majoring in set design.

1977–1991: Set Designer in the Varna Opera House
1996–2002: Artist in Chief in the Varna Opera
2002–2012: Freelance (Set Design and Painting)

Member of the UBA (Union of Bulgarian Artists) as of 1985
As a set designer, she has completed over 60 ballet and drama projects. Her project for the opera "Il Trovatore" is performed in 1990 at the National Opera House in Cairo, Egypt. Much of the Varna Opera performances are her projects and have also been presented in Spain, Italy, Greece and Germany. Among them, "Aida","The Troubadour", "A Masked Ball", "Carmen", "The Barber of Seville", "The Nutcracker", "Eugene Onegin" and others.The ballet “Anna Karenina” (2009) got awarded with the “Varna” award for choreography, staging and libretto.

She is actively involved in painting. She participates in regional and national exhibitions, as well as in three consecutive representative exhibitions of artists from Varna in Sofia.

Her  works are owned by private collectors in Bulgaria, UK, Italy, France, Netherlands and the USA.
